------=_NextPart_000_01BF3945.6BD4D460 Could anyone who is playing with win32lib, version 0.44e, AND has a REALLY FAST computer please try out this program. I'm concerned about the MyTimer1 value in line 77. Should I speed it up or slow it down to make it look 'decent', and still allow one to click on the bmp? My 'ancient' puter doesn't help me here ....thanks, Wolf. wolfritz at king.igs.net ------=_NextPart_000_01BF3945.6BD4D460

It runs at about the same speed on a 550 MHz as it does on a 400 MHz PentiumII system. I've found that there is a limit as to how fast a timer will respond regardless of the speed of the CPU. I brought up this issue once before because I couldn't get the speed I wanted with a standard timer even though I knew it could go faster. Once the limit is reached (about 50 milliseconds/tick) all other timer events are ignored. -- Brian

I decided to experiment with this and it seems that on a dual proc 550 MHz system running Windows 2000 the fastest I could set a timer was 15 milliseconds/tick (not 50 as I mentioned above). The speed difference between 15 and 25 (as you have in your 'screen2.exw' program) is negligible and is not too fast. I can still easily click on the floating logo... -- Brian
