1. Moving Euphoria

I need to move the euphoria binaries to another disk on my system, and I cannot seem to convince my windows machine to stop looking for them in the old place. I've tried resetting the file assignment and removing registry entries to no avail. Any suggestions? It would appear than Euphoria needs an uninstall program. ---------------- Dr. John Coonrod, Vice President, jc at thp.org The Hunger Project, 15 East 26th Street, NY, NY 10010 www.thp.org

I have no autoexec.bat file on my computer. I'm running Windows 2000. For some reason, Euphoria keeps looking into d:\euphoria\include for the include files when it should now be looking on the c: drive. - John Coonrod ===== Original Message from Euphoria Programming for MS-DOS <EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU> at 8/12/00 2:45 pm >On Sat, 12 Aug 2000 14:27:05 -0400, John Coonrod <jc at THP.ORG> wrote: > >>I need to move the euphoria binaries to another disk on my system, and I >>cannot seem to convince my windows machine to stop looking for them in the >>old place. Well - there is no such thing in Windows 2000. But I went into TOOLS, FOLDER OPTIONS, FILE TYPES and reconnected it to the binary, but the binary is not the problem. The binary starts up fine, but it looks for include files in d:\euphoria\include which no longer exists. John Is there some place in win2000 to add the include location to the path envioroment variable

No idea. If so, it is not in the registry as I've thoroughly searched it. ===== Original Message from Euphoria Programming for MS-DOS <EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU> at 8/12/00 3:42 pm >On Sat, 12 Aug 2000 15:15:37 -0400, John Coonrod <jc at THP.ORG> wrote: > >>Well - there is no such thing in Windows 2000. No. This is not with a shortcut. I go right into the bin folder and run exw.exe and then tell it where to find the exw file. ===== Original Message from Euphoria Programming for MS-DOS <EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU> at 8/12/00 4:08 pm > >If Windows 2000 is still using "shortcuts" then see if "start in" in the >shortcut >is set to the right place.

John, I don't know squat about W2000 and didn't keep a copy of your original msg, but in NT4.0, you can access "environmental variables" through the control panel. I seem to recall that some of them will not appear in the registry. Also recall that you must be sure you're logged in with "Administrator" privileges before making changes, or you may not see them next time around. You probably knew all that. John, in WinNT 4.0, locked in as a normal user, you can open the Control Panel, there open System Properties, then look under User Variables. You may set the variable 'PATH' and the related value to 'C:\EUPHORIA\BIN'. Also the variable 'SET' with value 'EUDIR=C:\EUPHORIA' may be set there. I personally prefer to start in the cmd-window with a cmd-file which sets temporarily all necessary environment variables for Eu. Hope in Win2000 it's similar. Rolf

Nope. Nothing like that in there. Just a couple of settings for TEMP and TMP. It is quite a mystery. ===== Original Message from Euphoria Programming for MS-DOS <EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU> at 8/12/00 5:26 pm >John, > >in WinNT 4.0, locked in as a normal user, you can open the Control >Panel, there open System Properties, then look under User Variables. >You may set the variable 'PATH' and the related value to >'C:\EUPHORIA\BIN'. Go to the control panel and open console. I don't remember wich tab it was, but one of them will have the NT equivelant to the config.sys and autoexec.bat files. This is where EUDIR should be stored. Just change the EUDIR to the appropriate path, and everything should work. Chris

To change EUDIR in win2k: Goto Control Panel and open "System", goto the "Advanced" tab and click "Evironment Variables", it should be there somewhere Thomas Parslow (PatRat) ICQ #:26359483 Rat Software http://www.ratsoft.freeserve.co.uk/ Please leave quoted text in place when replying ----- Original Message ----- From: John Coonrod <jc at THP.ORG> To: <EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU> Sent: Saturday, August 12, 2000 8:02 PM Subject: Re: Moving Euphoria > I have no autoexec.bat file on my computer.
