It was a dumb thing of course: it seemed that I had an older version of winlib32 in a directory that was also in the search path. Winlib32 0.55.1 was in another directory. Exw found this older version before it found version 0.55.1, so version 0.55.1 was not included at all. Silly me! So the above problem is solved. However, I have a problem with Winlib32 0.55.1 (see my other message "Winlib32 0.55.1 Fatal Error: Error code 498"... Eddy
