Eu on BeOS

I was looking thru the BeOs sites, and discovered reasons Eu won't be on Be soon: **************** Symmetric multiprocessing - Take advantage of two, four or more processors in a single machine. Pervasive multithreading - Multithreading takes large tasks, such as applications, and breaks them down into a myriad of smaller tasks. Pervasive multithreading means that this approach is used throughout the BeOS, from the kernel, through the graphics and I/O systems, and through BeOS applications. Preemptive multitasking - The BeOS works on and rapidly switches between dozens, often hundreds, of smaller tasks. These tasks can be deployed on a single processor, providing a smooth multitasking environment, or across any number of processors in a multiprocessor system. ********************** However, Robert, there is a BeOS gcc compiler,, so maybe you could give this a shot and get back to us? I know it's more than just re-compiling to get multithreading,, and having done some multithreaded code, it will sure make Eu interesting to have commands to direct the threads. This may be the best alternative to *nix OSs, with dos compatability and a good GUI. And it installs in 15 minutes? I am soooooo tired of windoze patches,, i have *countless* patches on this win95, there is no way i can do a complete reinstall again. Plus, win98 has a bad record, w2k is buggy as heck, and the latest windoze patches "call home" to MS. I know this because i wrote the firewall rules to block them. Kat, still browsing BeOS...
