Huh?
The reason my name is Dr. Cage right now instead of
"Catjackus" is because I started a masqeuared to get
Robert to port Eu to Playstation, PS2, etc.
I have told him about 10 million times that I am a
console coder and want to port Eu to consoles. I even
sent him a news article on Codewarrior for PS2 for
crying out loud.

Excuse me, but exactly *where* is the "speed" in
Euphoria you want me to increase?
Because the way I see it, Euphoria is SLOOOOOOOOW.
I'd make it atleast 8 times faster.
And get rid of all them slow runtime routines.
Add JIT compilation for all x86 platforms.
And an optimisation stage on the internal code.
And finally, I'd compile the interpreter for Win32
with VC++ 6.0, full optimisations.

accelarated, built-in routine sound?

But... very strange.. sounds a LOT like something MTS would say...
without most of the crass language of course..
Even the features you ask for, are peculiarly in tune with what MTS is
hoping to acheive...

bloating my language of choice. How bout something a little more practical?
That's what libraries are for. Add support for DLL compilation and you can
make all the doodads you want..

You should work for M$, not RDS..
Even if you could make Euphoria even more Euphoric, I would sooner buy M$
products than put money in your pocket..

Engine speed has been a heated topic on the Morfit forum of late.
I have been looking at a number of engines recently....
Auran Jet, Crystal Space, Revolution, True Space, Genesis / Jet......
In my opinion the only one of these that seems to have a visible speed
advantage over Morfit is Genesis.
The only two that seem to match or better Morfit graphically are
Genesis and Crystal space.
I am not greatly impressed with my first look at any of the others
(never really got Revolution to work.....will try it again)
Crystal Space samples showed frame rates of around 9 FPS on quite
simple worlds. Morfit generally sits around 17-25 on more complex
worlds on the same machine (333 Celeron, 3D card). Also, even
though the CS samples had low frame rates, they were still pretty
smooth and looked really nice.
I also think it is possible to do a better job than the Morfit samples
(and whatever I did to them!)
None of these engines come within a hundred miles of Morfit's ease
of use. Genesis, unfortunately, looks complex.
What are your system spec's Ferdinand?
Morfit is much quicker if you use hardware mode...you really *need*
a 3d card. (CTRL-ALT-V selects hardware mode when running a sample).

Of course not.
MTS is not even a registered user of any version
of the Euphoria interpreter or translator (despite
his lies a few weeks ago about "borrowing" someone's
credit card so he could register).
It is strictly illegal to distribute any Complete (registered)
version of Euphoria without RDS's permission, which
MTS definitely does *not* have.
