Yello there! :) I am just wondering, what everybody here programmed when he first got Euphoria? What that program did? (Btw, if you wrote a program that writes your name on the device, don't write me this one...write me something serious..:) Are you still programming it? Are you going to release it as SWare,FWare, PD or something else? Thanks for your replies. P.S. Say NO to Complicated Communication Ways! (I mean IRC) C'ya! Izchak Aronov.

My first programs in Euphoria were graphics tests, which became demos I distributed to everyone. Then I started Crash Course, then OidZone... Michael Packard Lord Generic Productions lgp at exo.com http://exo.com/~lgp A Crash Course in Game Design and Production http://exo.com/~lgp/euphoria

After that, I decided to see if I could make a serious game based on Nibbles (just to see if I could), with upgraded graphics. I also added Jacques Deschene's sound coding just for kicks. I just completed it, and you can find the game's source code at the Official Euphoria Page. Now its time for something original. Any ideas? >Thanks for your replies. >P.S. Say NO to Complicated Communication Ways! (I mean IRC) (you should thank people AFTER they reply. oh well) Well, thank god we seen an end to this crazy IRC topic. But did you notice since then we only had a few letters to the mailing list. Just a thought. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= The Reaper (J. Well, the first program I wrote was an extension of the supplied DB demo. You can find the source code at the Official Euphoria Page. More recently, the posted matrix.e so Euphoria can be used for engineering calculations. Bye Art Arthur P. Adamson, The Engine Man, euclid at mail.horandata.net

Just half-assed code to get a job done. andy

Back then nobody complained about your GUI or bitched about how windoz sucks or how this button doesn't work or how this picture messed up... (I love windows by the way) If you would program "Hello World" and have it ask you for your name, you pretty much got it all figured out.... However, Bill gates was sure to screw that one up for us Say, isn't it something how Mac users say us PC people suck for stealing Windows GUI from them, when they stole it from the Atari ST in the first place? Besides, the Atari did better multitasking than the Mac anyway...

Hello Izchak, You Asked: > I am just wondering, what everybody here programmed when he first got Euphoria ? I tried to open WordPerfect 5.1 files and tried to extract information from it. It worked but the structure declaration is somewhat odd in Euphoria but after a while you get used to it and don't anything else. And further: I try to make databases and indexfiles in Euphoria. > What that program did? (Btw, if you wrote a program that writes > your name on the device, don't write me this one...write me > something serious..:) Are you still programming it? Are you going > to release it as SWare,FWare, PD or Now, I'm working on a translation of a Turbo Pascal programm. Now I'm in contact with Borland America to handle the copyrights of it. If they cooperate then I release it for free on this forum and if it cost me money, for a small fee. And if they don't cooperate I'm doomed to used only for myself. Until now I waiting on a reply on my letter. Marcel Kollenaar

>I am just wondering, what everybody here programmed when he first got >Euphoria? Rewrote 'GUPI' (Grab UPI news files) originally in my poor 'C' knowledge, and wrote NEWZ-1, an offline reader for those who want to read the output of GUPI! >What that program did? Extracts news articles from UPI News sent via satellite. >Are you going to release it as SWare,FWare, PD They're out as SWare, distributed via satellite to those who can use it. Unasked question: What do you WISH you could do with it? Unasked answer: Get it to interact over a modem.
