How does one configure TextPad to Run the Euphoria file it is editing? I've seen discusions on this but not how to do it. Don Cole SF

I'm using the Dutch version of TextPad, so the following description might not be literally the same as the English version, but you'll probably figure it out. What you need to do is add 2 items to the Extra menu: 'Ex' and 'Exw'. - Select 'Settings' from the 'Configure' menu, and go to the 'Extra' page (last page). - Press the 'Add' button and select 'Program'. Find the EX.EXE program. - Press the 'Add' button again, select 'Program' and find the EXW.EXE program. - In the treeview on the left, expand the 'Extra' node and select the Ex node. - Fill in the form like this: * Parameters: $File * Start directory: $FileDir * check the checkbox 'Save all documents first' - Do the same for Exw To run a file you're editing, select 'Ex' or 'Exw' from the 'Extra' menu. -- The Internet combines the excitement of typing with the reliability of anonymous hearsay. tommy online: http://users.telenet.be/tommycarlier tommy.blog: http://tommycarlier.blogspot.com

I have Textpad 4.7.2. I can select "run" from the "tools" menu. The run box that comes up has a help menu for more info. After running the file once, Textpad remembers the menu data. It runs the saved file, so remember to save revisions.

Thank you. don cole SF

My version doesn't need configuring, just menu Tools ==> Run, browse and select the exe you want to run it (exw40.exe for me), set the options, and click it Ok. If there is an ex.err, tell Textpad to check for updates and prompt for refreshing files when changed. And get one of the Eu syntax coloring and keyword files. There's one on the Textpad webpage, and one in the RDS archives. Kat

I was going to say RTFM for the version you have, but if you are giving up on it anyways, nevermind. Kat
