Please, stop being so stupid. You can help or you can go, you're free to do both, but choose, I'm getting sick of reading "I found a cure but I don't know if I'll share it because you look at me at the eyes".

PS: If you want it to be fixed, create a Ticket with the file attached to it. If you have a fix, ask for permission to submit it to trunk.

I saw the previous post. There was no reason for it to be removed. No angry tone, No cursing. Simply a report similar to this one.

Unkmar, did you see the last post, not the initial? The whole point of the thread was to say I have a cure, but I'm not sharing it. Everyone is getting tired of it.

It's kind of hard to do anything about it when no one knows the problem and the only person who does know the problem says they will not share even what the problem is. Why even bother posting that there is a problem?!

I've just edited my post. Basically, if you've already discovered something, why not share it? It's the spirit of collaboration. Do you think that I know everything I work? No, we COLLABORATE each other each helping in his/her area. Please read what I've edited above.

You know, you people really don't get it. When was the last time you saw any contributions from me? Long time ago. Possibly before Guillermo joined. I have been and still am quite useful. There are many on this list that know so without ever seeing another contribution from me. (And I firmly request that those do NOT speak up in support of me.) I have not fear of what the Euphoria group chooses to believe of me or even if the few in charge choose to ban me. I do care that others not follow myself and be harmed in doing so. Um, why would your post be removed? I think you are misunderstanding why a few previous posts were removed. Your post has nothing in common with the others removed.
Now, I do want to address a few of your questions... Sure, other systems exist but why not have one in Euphoria? Has it not been a good example of what can be done in Euphoria? Has it not been a good test bed for Euphoria 4.0? They have caught many bugs. Are they good examples for others writing web applications? Absolutely! What is wrong with writing a wiki, a forum or a ticket system in Euphoria?
Now, a puppet of Rob... I think one of the main problems thus far is we rarely hear from Rob. How can anyone be a puppet of Rob if no one ever hears from him? I'd like to know (you can say in private if you wish) who is the puppet and what they are doing to harm Euphoria.
Now, Euphoria being shackled. How so?

You know, you people really don't get it.
To whom is the phrase "you people" referring?
When was the last time you saw any contributions from me? Long time ago.
Too true, sadly.
... even if the few in charge choose to ban me.
What!? Why would you think that anyone would ban you? And as for the "few in charge" comment, how many administrators should there be?
I do care that others not follow myself and be harmed in doing so. I have opinions and they aren't pointless. I don't and won't know creole. Waste of my time to learn it for THIS forum. I know PHP and don't understand the mentality of some people that all things must be written in or use Euphoria to be worthy.
I don't know PHP forum's markup, so why should I have to learn it? Same argument really.
Creole was chosen because it is a sort-of standard wiki markup.
The main purpose of writing the tools for this website in Euphoria is demonstrate that Euphoria is not a toy language. That has been a criticism for years against the language. Sure, there are other tools that do these things already, but our purpose for this website is to show-off Euphoria rather than those other tools.
As a side-effect, developing the website tools in v4 Euphoria has helped us to find and squash many bugs, and give credence to the ease of using Euphoria as a serious and rapid development environment.
And those very people continue to work on and rebuild Euphoria using C. A hammer is a great tool for hitting nails, But not all problems are nails to be hammered.
Huh? Not sure what you mean here. Are you saying that Euphoria would have been better developed using a different (compiled) language rather than C?
There are select few that are pulling the strings and they appear to still be puppeted by Rob.
You may have been misinformed, my friend. Robert Craig is having almost zero control or effect on OpenEuphoria. There is almost total silence from Robert. We have not been consulting him or requesting of him anything about the direction or implementation of Euphoria v4. Robert controls v3 Euphoria.
As for "pulling the strings", there is no select few. Anyone who wants to can apply to be a part of the development team. All that is required is a commitment to producing the best for Euphoria and its community. All of the current team members have begun so by submitting ideas and/or code and docs for inclusion. Based on the usefulness of the contributions and their commitment, people have joined the development group. There is not much sense in having open slather, or having people who are not committed to the cause, or cannot produce useful contributions.
OpenEuphoria my be Open to see and modify for personal use. but it ain't free. It is still very much shackled. Oh, and I am certain this post will likely be removed within an hour after it is posted. I'm sure many of you don't believe me. That's fine. Keep you heads in the sand.
What do you mean by 'free' then? Do you mean to imply that everyone should have write access to the primary Euphoria repository?
Why would this post be deleted? Are you implying that anyone with "opinions" will be censored? As far as I know, a post will be edited or deleted if it contains any of ... defamation, abuse, offensive language, etc ... This is a public forum and the moderators have a duty of care.
And I hope euphoria as it is and as it becomes is all you ever need of it. It was great for me for a time. It has been dead to me for a while now.
This is unfortunate and sad. Please reconsider.
Euphoria is still one of the fastest, simpliest, prototyping, scripting, programming languages I have ever encountered for many uses.

What am I not getting?
You are not getting that i do not wish to again go thru the browbeating i got while on the devlist. For bloody example, i was fixing the bug, someone else on irc unrelated to euphoria in any way reported 3 more files that crashed the application, and i was adding better task control as well as the task_talkback() (actually, Ry's task_set_var() and task_set_var(), as well as debugging those). It was code IN FLUX.
And you know what? If i haveto fight with anyone again over every little word i do or don't say, or what i leave in or delete as i am coding, i'd never have gotten this done tonight. Nor would i ever have wanted to LOOK at Eu again for another week.
So again, a bug quashed, two new functions added, debugged, tested, and news4.ex AND news5.ex completed, enjoyable talk with Ry on irc, one partial night used. Granted, timing in the task_schedule() calls aren't optomised yet, and http.e is still littered with trace(1) calls. And the bug resolution in http.e isn't optomised, it's still running tho, hours later.
Tell me again why i wanna release unfinished, uncleaned, IN FLUX, unoptomised, unspeed-tested http.e code? Why in any dieties name would i want to do that?
The screen shots look nice, i am as pleased as when i released news3.ex, but before the days of abuse on the devlist. I want to enjoy that feeling longer.
useless
PS: that code Matt objected to is still in there.

Um, everything that has been submitted to Euphoria over the past 1 1/2 years has been in a constant state of flux. Just now are we starting to think about optimizing the code we have submitted. Just now are we starting to even worry about testing for speed. Much of the code is 6 months old or greater.
The reason you would normally submit that type of code is because it's the normal development process. In fact, how old is the for loop? Matt just committed a change that optimized it a bit, so, someone submitted that code that we have all been enjoying quite some time ago, IN FLUX, unoptimized, unspeed-tested. I'm sure glad that it's just not today that we have a for loop.

Yep, i am speed testing the changes to http.e starting 4 hours ago. I am quite sure it won't crash before it finishes properly. Then it needs cleaning up, and maybe next few days, more speed testing and more interfacing via the two new task functions.
The problem i have is that http.e works now, it works thru the bug a lil more slowly than last week's code did, but outside the bug it runs just as fast. It now has feedback thru task_set/get to tell how it's doing. But only in get_http(). So i am not going to go thru what i did before over every line of new or legacy code, or every word i choose.
As far as Matt submitting code, i bet Matt was treated better for anything he submitted than i was for submitting news2 and news3. The way you asked about news*.ex was normal, the way Matt went after me isn't. I cannot find a way to submit news4.ex, news5.ex, or http.e (which has never been finished), without being paid back with days of the same sort of "discussion" that went on before. I said, all over the place, i said it, that news*.ex was in flux, and http.e has never been finished, but boy did i ever catch hell for it.
And now i understand that Derek will be taking over the dev of the task msging code, and none of what i have done with it is valid, and anything i will be doing to it will be compatable.
So i am remaining,
useless

You wanna bet? Matt, Derek, Jim, Chris, myself and all others have caught so much flack on some of our code that it was either immediately fixed or in some cases reverted right out of existence on the spot! The thing is, we don't change our name to useless, we learn from a mistake and push on and are not useless. I've told you this many times but you do not listen to me or choose to ignore this fact.
Do you know that on one change I wanted to Euphoria, I went through almost 3 weeks worth of debates, sometimes as many as 150 messages every single day! This is no joke! You can read the history of the dev messages and see for yourself. Many on the dev list remember this very tiring time. What would have happened if I changed my name to useless and just quit when I met a little opposition? The answer is easy, I would be useless.
The way you asked about news*.ex was normal, the way Matt went after me isn't.
Everyone has a different personality. Sometimes Derek and I really hit each others sore spots and things began to fly but in time I think we have both realized that we are not out for each other, we both respect each others coding abilities and when conflict occurs we realize it's not because we hate each other, it's simply that we are two different people with two different methods and two different communication styles. Derek and I could have both just ceased to do anything and changed our names to useless and pouted about our debate until we were both so depressed that we remove our /euphoria directories, unsubscribe from everything Euphoria and start to use QBasic for our coding, but we didn't.
I cannot find a way to submit news4.ex, news5.ex, or http.e (which has never been finished), without being paid back with days of the same sort of "discussion" that went on before. I don't know what you mean "catch h***" for it. You didn't get anything for it, there were some questions, some were answered others went into a longer discussion with some tense spots, but again, that is community development. Again, all of us go through it, Matt, Derek, Jim, Chris, everyone.

I was thinking about it in the past. I think the worst thing that happened was that I made a change to the Makefile that fit how I did development, but poor Derek ran the wmake distclean command to test a fresh build of his hours of work before committing. Oh no! He works a bit different than me and the changes I made to distclean deleted his entire source directory and all the work that he had just perfected.
I get a chuckle out of it trying to picture what his face must have looked like as he saw the delete commands going by. I hope by now he can chuckle at it also but oh boy, I was in a heap of trouble.

I did say that I'd submit some code that implemented generic version of the concept that you and Ryan were talking about, but that is no way the same as "taking over" anything. Do not blow my words out of context or proportion please.
And at no time did I say that the work you had done on news.ex would be invalidated or made incompatible by anything I submitted with respect to messaging between tasks.

Apropos of nothing, I was searching the last two months of the dev list and I was looking for abuse. I couldn't find it. I didn't see any criticism of the tasking code in http.e or in the new versions of news.ex.
Maybe some helpful soul could point it out to me?
I remember getting pretty turned off by some (mis)features that Derek and Chris and Jeremy wanted and I left the dev list. Well, that and the fact that stuff was just moving way too quickly and I was in over my head.
I see that the (mis)features that I don't like have been reconsidered anyway and so far I'm pretty well pleased with the progress that has been made.

I know PHP and don't understand the mentality of some people that all things must be written in or use Euphoria to be worthy.
<snip>
Other wikis exist. Lets build our on from scratch using Euphoria.
I was thinking about this statement last night. The first wiki was written in Perl. Why was one ever created in PHP? They should have just used the Perl wiki? Further, you say: "I know PHP". This is a Euphoria community, do you think there is a chance that more people here know Euphoria than PHP? There are wiki's written in Common Lisp, why not use one of those instead of one written in PHP? Could it be that you know PHP and therefore are more comfortable with a PHP wiki than one written in Common Lisp, Forth or Perl?
Or, are you still speaking about creole syntax and not really the wiki? Many of the PHP wiki's are now supporting creole as it has been setup by a large group of wiki developers to define a common wiki syntax.

I did say that I'd submit some code that implemented generic version of the concept that you and Ryan were talking about, but that is no way the same as "taking over" anything. Do not blow my words out of context or proportion please.
If i am not submitting code, and Ry isn't submitting code, and you are the only one submitting code, then who is the one running the show? As far as the official version of task msging, who has taken it over? It WOULD BE out of our hands. Why is it when i say it, it's fantasy?!?
And at no time did I say that the work you had done on news.ex would be invalidated or made incompatible by anything I submitted with respect to messaging between tasks.
If you submit code, and it's accepted as part of Euphoria, code that is different than what we have been writing and testing, that makes our code incompatable with future releases of Euphoria.
Since you mentioned news.ex as not being invalidated, you didn't understand when i said http.e is now passing data back to news4.ex and news5.ex using the new task msging system. By default that means both are using tasks msging, and if you change task msging, then you break both http.e and news.ex (as i have them).
And while i was away from the keybd, another occurance happened to stop http.e, which i may work on tonight.
On the other hand, if you want to add IPC or shared memory from the archives to core Euphoria, have at it! But i wasn't trying to remake that to fit tasks.

The abuse doesn't exist. It's all in her head. Always has been.
All the Euphoria devs are considerate, clever, very talented programmers. Obviously, as individuals, they're not going to have the same experience or opinion on many matters, so when a suggestion arises from one, the others, if not initially comfortable with it, will pipe in. That's their prerogative and responsibility as developers! There may even be some heat, but as Jeremy- and I hope all the devs- realized, we are a team working toward a common goal: to make Euphoria the best language we can make it. Hopefully, that's also the best language it can be.
I've been away for two days now, attending my grandmother's funeral. Coming back today, I'm in awe at the grace useless has been shown. Oh merciful devs! If it were up to me, she'd be banned from this forum.

And that is why you set me off no matter what. I have lost before i started. Why be nice?
I set you off? You could get set off by a purring kitten.
I've never said anything against your programming ability. I think you could be an important part of the Euphoria community given your niche ability in Internet programming/manipulation. Unfortunately, you have personality issues that cause too many conflicts. Nobody on the dev list was angry or upset at anything you've done, yet you find demons where there are none.
Our current dev team must be diligent because they are pursuing excellence. They're not pursuing glory or riches, right?! In that pursuit of excellence, questions will be asked and ideas will be grilled. Since you couldn't handle the heat, you got outta the kitchen.
You were given a chance by the devs to join the team and make your valuable contributions. I think it was your unfamiliarity with team development, combined with your psychosis, that caused you to flee much too soon. While I was not surprised by it, I was disappointed. I get all excited whenever code efficiency is improved! I loves me some speed! hahaha
The fact that you were given the chance- the fact that you are still allowed to post here- means that you haven't "lost" before you started... not in my eyes nor anybody else's. But it gets to a point where people just can't tolerate it anymore. It's grating on the soul. Who has time to read through the paranoid crazy talk or self-pity? Those are the threads and comments that should be removed, and somebody who posts too much of it should be banned.
And the reason to be nice is because that's what mature, rational people do.

If it were up to me, she'd be banned from this forum.
I'm amazed by the numbers of replies to this thread. No need to ban anyone. We know Kat for years and she is who she is. No one can change it. Why not just stay quiet when she does one of her ego crisis?. arguing with Kat is useless.

It was never about ego, it was about frustration trying to get a concept across, when it turned into how to define "to" on the devlist or how to define "if" last night on irc, or code i did not write, or any other things unrelated to actual existing code!
When i joined the devlist, with a lot of reluctance on my part, Jeremy had questions and observations. He edited some code, we agreed the news*.ex should be in a tutorial, and a tutorial was my whole point in keeping them as snapshots of the progression. This was not how things went with others. I could not even get across what "unfinished", "in flux", "working on new versions", etc meant. It was like the Bill Clinton thing defining what "with" or "means" meant.
I know my code is good, or i myself would not use it. But i still ask for help, like last nite on irc and here. Work got done. I did not need to define any english words to people who i thought spoke english naturally. I enjoyed it. But when you misunderstand the situation overall, it's as bad as not understanding "to" or "if". No communication happens. CK stopped thinking i was rational back in the religion wars on the list in the 90's, i would not believe in his imaginary friends, therefor he will sell you the torches and pitchforks. I get it. I don't care much to be nice any more when the situation always ends up the same with some.
Last nite, Ry posted code, i tested it, i edited it, i posted back the resulting code, i think i helped, and no one got hurt. But then, Ry doesn't seem to come with preconceived boxed up medical opinions about me. Even tho he was busy, we blitzed the code out and thru testing, and considered more options in it. It was great. But if it was necessary to define every word, and use explicit semantics before any code was done, i suspect he and i both would have given up.
If i release more code, and it works better than any code did previously, some of you will say it proves i don't have a clue, some will say the code is all wrong, some will say it's unneeded because they do not need it at this time. I know this will happen because it has happened. But these arguements have no logic to them, so i have no defense against them, and it's frustrating, and i think a lot of you enjoy this as sport. Because it's still going on.

This is simply not true.
It had nothing to do with your religious/non-religious preferences. It's your [deleted] tendencies that make me think you're irrational.
Just wanted to clear that up.
(Last time, folks! Sorry.)
