Tell me again why i wanna release unfinished, uncleaned, IN FLUX, unoptomised, unspeed-tested http.e code? Why in any dieties name would i want to do that?
Um, everything that has been submitted to Euphoria over the past 1 1/2 years has been in a constant state of flux. Just now are we starting to think about optimizing the code we have submitted. Just now are we starting to even worry about testing for speed. Much of the code is 6 months old or greater.
The reason you would normally submit that type of code is because it's the normal development process. In fact, how old is the for loop? Matt just committed a change that optimized it a bit, so, someone submitted that code that we have all been enjoying quite some time ago, IN FLUX, unoptimized, unspeed-tested. I'm sure glad that it's just not today that we have a for loop.

Yep, i am speed testing the changes to http.e starting 4 hours ago. I am quite sure it won't crash before it finishes properly. Then it needs cleaning up, and maybe next few days, more speed testing and more interfacing via the two new task functions.
The problem i have is that http.e works now, it works thru the bug a lil more slowly than last week's code did, but outside the bug it runs just as fast. It now has feedback thru task_set/get to tell how it's doing. But only in get_http(). So i am not going to go thru what i did before over every line of new or legacy code, or every word i choose.
As far as Matt submitting code, i bet Matt was treated better for anything he submitted than i was for submitting news2 and news3. The way you asked about news*.ex was normal, the way Matt went after me isn't. I cannot find a way to submit news4.ex, news5.ex, or http.e (which has never been finished), without being paid back with days of the same sort of "discussion" that went on before. I said, all over the place, i said it, that news*.ex was in flux, and http.e has never been finished, but boy did i ever catch hell for it.
And now i understand that Derek will be taking over the dev of the task msging code, and none of what i have done with it is valid, and anything i will be doing to it will be compatable.
So i am remaining,
