Sorry for the delay. I wrote the example last night (A flying saucer moving over a landscape) and showed it to my 8yo daughter this morning. She said I should make it in to a little game, and then proceeded to give me the specifications! We came to a compromise. So tonight I'll add a few game elements into it and if it meets Rosie's high standard, I'll make it available to you all. Currently, the idea will be to display a word and scatter the letters around the screen. The player must then guide the flying saucer around the screen to 'pick up' the letters. Once they are all collected, the player must then land the saucer on top of the displayed word. Points are gained by collecting the letters in the correct sequence, and bonus points are awarded on the speed of collection. If the saucer fails to land correctly, all the letters spill out and must be recollected, and no points are tallied. Difficulty levels are a combination of the length of the words and the 'expected time to collect'. Level 1 3-letters 60 seconds Level 2 3-letters 40 seconds Level 3 4-letters 70 seconds Level 4 4-letters 50 seconds Level 5 4-letters 40 seconds Level 6 5-letters 80 seconds Level 7 5-letters 60 seconds Level 8 5-letters 40 seconds Level 9 6-letters 70 seconds Level 10 6-letters 35 seconds -- cheers, Derek Parnell
