RE: Essential feature: assertions

It's called lobbying,
If there are enough people who find it useful, and would better the
language then why wouldn't Rob consider it?
Nobody is forcing Rob to do anything, people just feel that a certain
improvement could/would make the language better..

Personally, I see the benefits of using assertion in my programs, and I
think it could be a good addition to the language. I don't think I would
typically use it though.
This doesn't mean that if Rob were to implement it. That you would HAVE
to use assertions. You would just have the OPTION.

Besides, Why shouldn't people suggest improvements based on some of the
most POPULAR programming software that is available. There IS a reason
that they are so popular..
Not saying that they are better, but certainly they have attracted more
people for a reason, it's not all marketing.

One more point, I think Rob would be quite pleased if people started
SUBSTITUTING Euphoria for C++/VB.. imagine that, little ol' EU taking on
the big boys... (Prolly wouldn't so little anymore though. LOL)

The problem with the concept of a simple, small elegant, easy to learn
language , is that it doesn't provide enough to attract enough people to
make it worth while..
Currently Eu fills a niche, but it certainly doesn't have a market..
Still just a project for Rob, definitely not a source of income..
I'm sure Rob has hopes though.

If Rob were willing/able to provide a mechanism for expanding the NATIVE
language myself. I WOULD
