I've tried Edita for this feature some time ago,
and something was not that right.

The real problem is not only the bilingual Euphoria
syntax coloring itself, but OEM <-> ANSI recoding
for the screen and Latin / cp866 <-> cp1251 switching
of the keyboard layout on the fly.

Say, if I'm writing a Windows program with dialogs,
then encoding for these dialogs must be cp1251 (ANSI).

But if in this program I use some Russian file names,
I must use the recoding function in my program, or
just type these names as cp866 (OEM).

ed.ex works with cp866 Russian comments, so if I
load my program after ed.ex into Edita I must
to use the ugly Terminal font just to read my
comments etc etc etc etc.

Too long and not interesting story to tell it here,
I think.

The built in editor of the FAR file manager, written
by Russian programmers, does do these things just in
console window and has cp866, cp1251, koi8-r, iso8859-5,
Mac, Unicode tables and I can write Eu programs for
any platform I want, switching among red.ex and FAR
(or MC on Linux), so the problem is not that terrible
and was solved years ago.
