That's an interesting possibility, but I think RDS would have to make money from it somehow, either through mailing list advertising or an extra charge when you register. Updating the Web site with new contributions already takes more time than it might appear. Time that could be spent on new development. People often leave a critical file out of their .zip, they don't document how to run the program, the program crashes, I have to notify the author etc. All the .zips on the Web page are stored in a directory on a hard disk. That hard disk is scanned periodically for viruses. Viruses are not too likely since most contributions are in source form, and most are from people that I know.
