It was an extra maintenance chore, and since a full traceback is now provided, even for programs over 300 statements, it seemed a bit pointless, ..." You may be confusing "traceback" with "trace". A long time ago, PD users lost the error traceback (ex.err) when their programs exceeded 300 statements. Now they only lose the trace() facility. There are no plans to drop the 300 statement cut-off point on the trace() facility - i.e. the interactive trace and ctrace.out file.
