300 statement limit

In a reply to a post about stamped files a while ago, RC hinted that he'd drop the 300 statelent limit to use the trace() facility. My ex.exe ids as 2.4 beta and still complains about trace(1). Is this an omission in the PD distro, or did I miss anything? CChris
