Thanks. There's a new version at http://take.maxleft.com , 
as of the 27th. thanks to some feedback from Jerry Story.

An easy way to track down problems is to run the offending program 
from an x-term. i.e. exu drawing.exu
That should give some sort of error message. Let me know what happens.

Actually, ALL of GTK 1.2 is being replaced with version 2.0, which 
is much different. I have an experimental 2.0 version which is mostly 
working now. I'll send it to anyone who wants to try.
