Don't worry about it. Other than one or two 'posting police', most of us here are just interested in the questions and answers. I, for one, don't have any problem with posts which are 'off topic', if I did, I would not read 90% of the messages here, because they invariably drift off-topic rather quickly. I can read fast enough that it is no great imposition if I must read the entire post. Now, as for Euphoria, I use it, and have for 5 or 6 years, in commercial work, when it fits the task. Bear in mind, however, that when it comes to Windows (or xWindows or GTK), those libraries are NOT supported by the creator of Euphoria, they're all contributed by users. Therefore, there is no real control over compatibility, versioning, etc. other than what those contributors choose to exercise. So you may expect to find things which do not work together. It's good to ask on this list about such things. You will also understand that, since this is a tool for programmers, a certain level of general computer expertise is assumed. And bear in mind that many of the people on this list have installed Euphoria numerous times (I have done perhaps 50 installs) and we know from experience that the basic setup does work, and is quite simple. So perhaps you can understand why some might be dubious when someone says they followed the directions but it doesn't work. Regards, Irv
