There has been a fair bit of talk about DLLs and Windows GUIs lately, so here's my 20 cents worth in the hope that someone who knows what they're talking about will pick up the ball. Most of what follows is probably rather inacurate, but this is my understanding. The Windows look GUI (in my version of Win95) is generated mostly from 2 DLLs; Ctl3d32.dll, (Control 3D, 32bit) which was developed from good old Threed.dll. It generates and handles the standard '3d look' windows and buttons, and Comdlg32.dll (Common Dialogue, 32 bit) which generates and handles all of the common dialogue boxes that appear such as load, save, save as, palette selection and a few other functions. If one of you wiz-kids out there can work out how to access and manipulate these objects, we'd be half way there. Presumably the win32 version of EU will make use of them (?). If anyone else knows more please post it. Graeme
