It's written by Andrew Plotkin. You can find the program here on his home 
page:

It's not really abandonware, though. It's written in Z-code, a cross-platform 
virtual machine language for writing adventure games. It was invented and 
used by Infocom for their adventure game - Zork, Planetfall, Wishbringer, etc.
