Bucket sort, ouch!

Aloha Euphoria Programming for MS-DOS,

  I was just using e for a few days. Just looked at the sort demo
  program. I was surprised at what the so-called bucket sort got the
  fastest score compared to most other. I'm just using it (quick-sort)
  everyday and everywhere, and wondering if I had used it it would've
  been really..... ehm.... well, ya know.

  What is it, really? What's the heart of it? Where can I get more
  info? What kind of data is good for bucket sort? And why everybody
  is using Quicksort if there's a better algo?
