Hi Vincent,

Yes; that's the same Minix. Although now version 3 is meant for production use
and
contrary to versions 1 and 2 not only as a classroom example of an Operating
System.

A lot of software is currently being ported from Linux to Minux, so I assume
that it
is a relatively easy task.

I have no idea how many users there currently are; There were a lot of downloads
(over 50.000) just after the first release of Minix 3. As for the interest users
may
have in a non-GPL/BSD licensed programming language: people are using it now in
Dos,
Windows, Linux, BSD. Occasionally I see questions about ports to the MAC
(another OS
that may grow bigger in the future), so there is already an interest in having
it
available in many environments.

I think that the more platforms Euphoria runs on, the more interesting it
becomes to
use it for projects.

Minix is currently nowhere as sophisticated as Linux, BSD, MAC or even Windows.
It
just looks like a new interesting environment that breathes the atmosphere of
Linux in the begin days: more fun to play with than to consider using it for
controlling the next space shuttle. More info is at http://www.minix3.org.

Regards,
Lucien
