Damn few COBOL programmers around these days, Bill Windows be thanked, so we few fossils can make a living writing code like Add Something to Something-Else giving Proper-Thanks-To-Whomever. Though, naturally, your Working-Storage Section should include something like 77 Something pic 9(6)V99 value zeroes. 77 Something -Else pic 9(6)V99 value zeroes. 77 Proper-Thanks-To-Whomever pic S9(6)V99 value zeroes. Can you do that with Euphoria? Can you, huh? Can you have an Euphoria program define a variable as pic 9(2), so that when you add 1 to 99 you get a simple, magical, unpretentious 00, instead of an ugly 100 anybody can write with a pencil? Ah, the joys of debugging a COBOL program somebody else wrote 30 years ago, when OOP was just a misspelling of OOPS! BTW, my [favorite antique programming language] is APL II. One-liners, indeed...
