That implied the question: "Can you please explain to me, how it works?" And why did I do so? Because you had written before (on 2004-08-06): | Tiggr has latitude/longitude of almost everywhere. I could put that | info on her irc database for questioning. So I asked you, *how* to question it, and then I got your harsh reply. Where is the problem? Because of that post, I was assuming that you wanted to provide the information in public, and so I simply asked how to get it. Sharing information with each other also is the sprit of this mailing list. Information about latitude/longitude of cities is available in public anyway, and so I don't understand, why you react like the Queen, when someone tries to steal the jewelry of her crown ... In the meantime, I believe you just wanted to say that you have the data, but didn't want to give them to this list. This is the only explaiation that I have for your strange reaction. >>> You said i should upload the entire database for you, >> >> No, I did *not* write that. > > You wrote: > Maybe you can put it on your website, for download? Yes, I did so. This is a question, and I can't see any word like 'shall' or 'should' there ... You said, that you were willing to put that latitude/longitude info on Tiggr's irc database for questioning. I don't know anything about irc, so I *asked* wheter you could make it available for download. Where is the problem? If you didn't want to do so, just say "no", and anything is clear. No need for a harsh reply at all. >>> but then said you didn't need the whole >>> thing so nevermind. The form the data is in here is irrelavant. Sounds ok, but then, i have the data already, and you still > haven't asked me about those 50 places either. I don't understand why you always talk about those 50 cities. I cannot handle databases of arbitrary size, and I didn't know how big the database was, so I actually thought, that in the beginning, we maybe could start with 50 cities. Where is the problem? >>> I wasn't expecting this from *you*, Juergen, but i am >>> prepared for it from anyone now. >> >> Your expectation was correct, because I didn't do anything in order to >> "not involve you". > > Except separate me from the data, which may not be all in one place and > premunged anymore. I never wanted nor tried to separate you from your data. My mistake obviously just was, that I assumed that you wanted to provide the data in public, when you wrote: | Tiggr has latitude/longitude of almost everywhere. I could put that | info on her irc database for questioning. >>> Just consider this, i had most of this contest sewn up 4 years ago. >> >> So what? ... wait. Do you think I tried to exclude you from the contest, >> or what? Is that, what you are talking about? > > Yes. Or simply by saying you wouldn't want to be part of a group that > would have me. Hm ...? What a new "discussing style" is that? I did not say something like that! If there is actually something that I hate, it is other poeple, trying to lay words into my mouth. What a kind of game are you trying to play?? Also, see the sentence above, between the two lines of ++++. You didn't reply to that sentence at all. Do you actually think I'm that crazy, that I didn't want to work together with you, and then replied to your post anyhow? Try to think logically, please. > I know how that works: once enough people have said it, i am out > of everything. By writing strange replies, that contain a lot of nonsense, you kick *yourself* out of anything. And you shouldn't mix up cause and effect. You are creating self-fulfilling prophecies. This has been told you on this list before. It's up to *you*, to learn something, from what people are trying to tell you ... >> The contest has not yet started, this is just a discussion about some >> *possible* tasks in a *possible* contest. And please consider, that any >> problem that has been solved on this list before the contest starts, >> cannot be part of the contest any more. >> >> And actually, I am not interested in (and don't have the power to do so) >> excluding you from anything. > > Well, people have opinions about things, about who they will and won't work > with. As I wrote, the text above was meant as a serious general hint. Consider it or not, that's up to *you*. I hope, we can end this thread soon. <snip> Regards, Juergen
