--MIME-multipart-message-boundary-985198098 .. far as I know, any shellExecute() always ran independently of it's 'called from' program, in all win32libs. I sent this little demo in answer to the original question, which simply opens a modal dialog box to do the shellExecute(), so the main program's code has to wait for the dialog to close before continuing... as a simple 'workaround'. Other ways to get around this would involve using FindWindow(), ( easy if the shelled proggy is win32lib ) or perhaps EnumWindows(), triggered by a timer?
