  You said QNX seems to be far too expensive.
  The MIPS, SPARC, RISC platforms (including ARM and PowerPC),
  and R3000 are also far too expensive.
  x86 is what the average person can afford.
  We all don't have rich benifactors or employers to pay for them :)
