I'm not sure which file you are talking about, but you might
look in the Editors section of the Archive.

That wouldn't be my recommendation.
The only real "problem" compared to 2.4, is that
if you have a computer that's more than say 3 years old,
and you run a huge program, it will take several seconds
longer to start up. If you bind or translate that program
it will actually start up faster using 2.5.
In the 2.5 beta I'm sure I (and maybe others) can tweak 
a few things in the front-end to speed things up to
some extent.

In the past we have maintained parallel versions during the
alpha/beta phase. This time I felt that:

   1. 2.5 is pretty stable

   2. Newbies will be confused by the differences between 2.4
      and 2.5, so they might as well start with 2.5.
      2.5 isn't just some bug fixes and small enhancements over 2.4, 
      but rather, many important things have changed: 
      no more "Complete Edition" interpreter or translator, 
      PD source available, 
      prices all different,
      no more shipping option,
      Interpreter package is now called "Binder", etc.
      binder works very differently: produces .il files
      translator is bundled in

That's going back a long way. Didn't David include his IDE
in his Win32Lib package? There's a user contribution today
with a bound version of a stable recent release of the IDE 
and Win32Lib. Maybe he should try that.

We rarely delete files from the Archive unless the author
submits a new improved version.

There used to be a section on the download page for the Translator.
It had a bunch of .zips for various platforms.
That section is gone now, because all the Translator files
that you need (for DOS or Windows) are now included in the 
main download package (1.8Mb). (and the Linux/FreeBSD interpreter
package now includes the Linux and FreeBSD translator stuff).
