hi Chris,
    I cannot replicate you're problem as here everything works out just
fine. what listview style is being used? Try using LVS_ICON on its own.
    Also the shell provides up to 65 icons, so try changing the 1 to
anyvalue in between.
      ic = addIcon( extractIcon( {"shell32.dll", 8} ) )
