MMX (MultiMedia eXtensions, or something like that..) are a bunch of
instructions available for Intel's generation 6 processors (PPro & P2) and
later that lets you process multiple integers at the same time.
I'm not sure, but I think that the P3 has similar instructions for floating
point numbers (SIMD).
