Yes - but if you've ever looked at CoreWars, whence this idea
derives, you'll see that while the idea is that simple, execution
isn't.

Why? Both are on-topic for this list; in fact, I believe that
both were stated reasons for the list's existence. A polite
request, describing problems in detail, will almost certainly get
you some routines that partially or completely do the job in
question, or an explanation of what kinds of things to look for
in writing the code yourself. (I happen to be of the school that
says you'll do it better in the long run if you do it yourself.
I rarely answer a "How Do I..." with actual code; more often an
explanation of how to break down the problem, and possibly an
algorithm. Others will have no hesitation about handing out
code.)
