Kat,

There's an article about just that in the December issue of Popular Science.
Part of what they did with the "agents" is just turn them a bunch of them
loose to fight, & either tweak various aspects of each to move the battle
toward the desired end, or select spontaneous portions of various battles.
One interesting battle:  most of the agents "fought like hell", but a small
group consolidated that ran away.
