OK, for those of you who maintain EU you may want to fix this. What happened was it changed which interpreter to be used on an icon I had on the screen. I went into the icon properties and general tab and changed "open with" to the old EU. The install had changed it to the new interpreter. My panic and hyperventlating has settled down. I have a lot of customers to support but feel a lot better now that the old stuff still works so I can slowly migrate to the new stuff.
