Forked from Re: windows 7

useless said...

You know, between micro$oft dropping various support for previous dos/windoze features, and Euphoria growing up to v4 (and dropping dos support), the archives as we have known them for the last 10+ years could be totally obsolete soon.

I feel this should be a topic of some discussion, like what to do about it, if anything. It's going to look really bad when :

1) RDS turns off potential Eu users-programmers because the OS won't let the archived apps run
B) Eu v4+ won't let the archived apps run

useless

I agree.

The RDS archive has kind of outgrown itself, and has not kept up with changes in euphoria, or operating systems. While the RDS archive has been very fit for purpose until now, perhaps it is time for a change.

If there is any interest in updating the archive to a today 'standard' , I would be happy to look at various options and methods of re organising. If there was no interest, obviously, then I would not do anything to upset the applecart, or if anybody else wanted to do it, again I would have no qualms.
