eFTE problem

I have a problem with the screen using eFTE.
The text is scrambled as shown in this link:

My installation was:
- Slax 6.1.1
- efte-1.0-1.i386.rpm
- convert from rpm to lzm using rpm2lzm-pfix-.9-1.lzm
- Slax module is created and installes
I do get a startup warning message:
xeFTE Warning: unable to open font "9x15": Missing count: 1 ISO08859-1
Yes, Slax does have most of the fonts stripped out.
