If your router is also a cable modem, you may need to inform your ISP that you
are using it, and what its MAC address is. Otherwise their network will not allow
it to connect.

If you are still using the cable modem, and it works when you connect the
computer directly to it but not when you connect the router to it, then I have no
idea what is going on.
