Yes, .tgz is just shorthand for .tar.gz. In fact, if you're generating
a tar file, then passing it through gzip, you get a .tar.gz file. If
you're running tar with -z, you're making a .tgz file. I guess it
doesn't really matter cause it works either way. File extensions don't
mean a whole lot in Linux anyway, just look at executables. blink
