1. Dial-Up and KDE in Linux...
Hy,
Some Questions....
- Anyone know how to set a PAP-Connection without password in Linux ?
- How do you set permissions of a file via the prompt instead of using the
KDE Filemanager ?
- Can you specify the protocols for a internet connection ?
- Anyone had the problem with KDE that you can only use ALT+F2 for 'run
command' and nothing else is showed;
no menu, no taskbar, no icons, even no Right-Mouse-Click-Menu.
- The same as the above, but now with R-Mouse-Click-Menu and with taskbar
but that doesn't work, unless you run KFMSU

KPPP does PAP, etc. and is very easy to set up. I guess you could leave the
password blank, and type it in each time you log in.

chmod - type man chmod to get the parameters.

alt-F2 just pops up a run box - like the run dialog in windows.
You can type just about any valid command in the window, as well as URLs, etc.
It's not supposed to show a menu.

You shouldn't see KFMSU (super-user prompt) unless you try to run something
like the File Manager in Super-user mode (from the K/System menu.

I use Kppp but when you leave the password blank, it says that
you have to fill in a password first.

The K Desktop Eviroment exists of a taskbar and menubar, like Windows,
and normally it displays, but somehow I gatched this stupid bug, I
can't run anything on the menubar, except when typing ALT+F2: KFMSU2

Super-User Prompt ?
KFMSU is the K-File Manager in Super User(root)

Select an account, click on the Edit button, then on the Dial tab,
unclick the "save password" box.
Type in anything for a password, it won't matter, because it won't save
it, and will ask for a password each time.

You have botched your setup. You may have to reload the system, but first I
would try setting up a new user. That may be all that is necessary.
