CGI : http://www.chami.com/Tips/internet/062898I.html : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_gateway_interface GUI : http://www.cnet.com/Resources/Info/Glossary/Terms/gui.html : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphical_user_interface In short, * CGI is a set of rules and operations that standardize the way a program can get and send web pages. * GUI is a method of using non-text-only items to present information to a progam's user. Windows uses a GUI but DOS does not. -- Derek Parnell Melbourne, Australia Skype name: derek.j.parnell

Hi Don... The first hit from Google is: http://www.cgi101.com/book/ Looks like a good one! Give it a read, and if you need clarification ask away. I'll be lurking ;) Later... -- duke

Thank you Derek and Duke, That pretty well covers it. Since I don't plan on creating any web pages at this time I don't see much point in learning CGI. I pretty much know what GUI is. And Merry Christmas to everybody. Don Cole
