1. Euphoria Tutorial Translation

Hello.
I am working on a tutorial for Euphoria, a bit "easier" to understand =
that David Gay's tutorial (no offence Dave!). I found that David's was a =
bit confusing for an absolute beginner, because my friend tried his =
tutorial, and he said, "What the f***k is this?!?"
Anyways, could any Germans or Austrians help me translate it to German, =
and French or French-Canadians help me with the French translation, =
etc.?
I think it would be neat if it was translated into Welsh too.

2. Euphoria Tutorial Translation
Oh I totally agree...there should be a redone tutorial, face it Dave's
was an excellent tutorial,but for some people, a different approach
had to be tried(more sample programs),maybe more GUI. I can tell you
all about sequence slicing and what goes where, but when asked to put
it all together--("--"is about as far as I can program).
As far as translations into Welsh I don't know, but I can do it into
Spanish and even Polish if the program were to go commercial. Well,
since I like science journalism--I think I could help to translate it
into ***English***.

No offense taken. In the near-two and a half years since I have been writing
tutorials for Euphoria, I realize that while both the first and the second
tutorials have done a good job showing people how to program in Euphoria,
(the second tutorial is now on a CD from Programmer's Paradise, entitled
"Programmer's Paradise II"), there have been a few who commented much like
your friend about the tutorial. However, I realized if I am going to do
things that expose myself to any sort of negative press, I better have
a suit of armour for skin, or don't bother doing tutorials.

Nate, I wish you the best of luck with your tutorial. I am especially hopeful
you can find people who can write it in various languages as you planned.
I urge the Euphoria programming community to help Nate write this tutorial. If
it
turns out to be the winner I suspect it is going to be, I'll be happy to
close down ABGTE in favour of a superior tutorial.

Thanks for the compliment
Not only should Nate's tutorial be done in various languages, it should
also be able to run on a variety of platforms, ranging
from DOS (where my tutorial currnently runs) to the family of Windows operating
systems. Hopefully other ports of Euphoria will allow this new tutorial to go
beyond the PC architecture.

Wow David! Thanks for the support! I'm going to port the tutorial (with the
same content of course) to Linux and other OSes. The tutorial is now going
to be "contributionware". For example, say I learned how to code in Euphoria
with my tutorial and I really liked it. So I'd send a small fee of about
$10-100 dollars to the author (me) to help it carry on (telling me that
people like it, making new larger versions, etc).
The final version of it (hopefully VERY long into the future), I will try to
publish it with MacMillan Computer Books or a local printer, Olive Tree
Press.
