posted by: jtemple at yhti.net Rob, Very nice job so far on the forum! However, I was (and possibly the only) a "web only" subscriber to Topica. Mainly to avoid ads! Here's a few suggestions for those of us who might want to only read/respond/write via the web: 1. Add a "Post" link to the initial forum page. At this point I have to click a message to start a new post. 2. Add a "Reply" link to each message page. As is it now, I would have to copy the message to the clipboard and then paste into a new message. 3. I tried to use the "Previous" link from the first message on the forum page and got a "Page not found" message. There's also no way to go back and view previous pages of messages (like the Topica web interface). Thanks, Jonas

We'll probably add some other links and info there as well. > 2. Add a "Reply" link to each message page. She wants to get login's working first, so it will automatically fill in your name, address and signature on Posts and Replies. > 3. It will take you to the main index if you try to move earlier than the first message. > There's also no way to go back and view previous > pages of messages (like the Topica web interface). We'll eventually expand the number of messages available, and the main index will link to earlier index pages. Of course all messages are recorded forever in the searchable Archive. If you know who posted a message, you can enter that in the Search form and that person's messages will be displayed, most recent first. Regards, Rob Craig

posted by: jtemple at yhti.net It all sounds good! Hey, here's a marketing idea for you... You've got this easy, ad-free mailing list starting up here. Why not provide an ad-free mailing list to your ListFilter customers if they pay for the ListFilter service? No ListFilter, no mailing list. It would also be a great advertisement for Euphoria! Jonas

I wish I could, but the EUforum code is tightly integrated with the ListFilter code. I don't want spammers to see exactly how I'm defending against them. It will also soon be integrated with the login/password code used by the User Contribution system. I don't want hackers perusing the code that decides if a password is valid or not. If people want to know anything about how some feature works, I don't mind telling them, and even giving out snippets of code, but I can't release the whole thing. In any case, it has lots of hard-coded stuff that's highly specific to RapidEuphoria.com and ListFilter.com. It wouldn't be that easy to port.
