Is anyone still interested in the Euphoria news group? I've only seen one other person post there besides myself (and of course a message "You can make 10 million $$$ a day as well" I'd like to see some good discusion go on there. Not only would it be another way of hopefully getting our questions answered, but it is also an excelent way of letting others know about Euphoria. The more people who know about the language and use it, the stronger it will become. If your having trouble accessing the news group, there is a public (free) news server by the name of server05.computeron.net that carries the news group (other servers, such as your local one, may pick up the news group if more people begin to use it). Simply type this name into the place for News Server. In Netscape you can just go to the NETSCAPE NEWS window, then click FILE, then OPEN NEWS SERVER and type in server05.computeron.net --OR-- you can click OPTIONS, then MAIL/NEWS PREFERENCES, then SERVERS and type in server05.computeron.net in the News Server place. In Internet Explorer the process should be about the same. ------------------------------------------------ The name of the news group is alt.lang.euphoria ------------------------------------------------ Hope to see some good discussion started. Last week, feeling frustrated, I logged on to some news = servers I found via Yahoo! and sent out more creation messages. Who knew Usenet propagation was so slow? Perhaps faster for news groups created on a major player like Prodigy or AOL, as opposed to my backwater ISP. Anyway, hopefully the news group will now be on nearly everyone's = servers. Please post there now and again; you can always CC to this list. Regards, Warren

I'm ignorant about news group, I don't know how it work. Maybe someone could tell me. I'm not interrested in irc, I don't like all thoses lines appearing in disordered manner, but most important, as somenone said, we are spread all around the world and there is the problem of time zones. I'm satisfied with the mailing list. 10 or 15 messages a day, it's ok to me, as most messages are shorts. Jacques Deschenes Baie-Comeau, Quebec Canada desja at quebectel.com

> I'm ignorant about news group, I don't know how it work. Maybe someone > could tell me. Newsgroups are like BBS message bases, and are the opposite of a listserv. Instead of all the messages coming to your mailbox as in a listserv, you have to go to a message base to read all the messages. A newsgroup usually sticks to a specific subject, such as posts about Babylon 5, debating the merits of snuffing Shannon Doherty, or discussing politics local or international. At last memory, there are over 15,000 newsgroups to choose from. You require a program to read and write to newsgroups...I use NewsX but some people swear by other product names. Laugh...I love Babylon 5, but I hate Shannon Doherty and Beverly Hills 90210 (the show, not the real life city and people). I don't think Doherty can SPELL the word let alone discuss politics So when is the next Games programming 101 lesson? Or do 150-odd Euphoria listserv participants have to write whiney pleading messages to your Email? 8) David Alan Gay
