1. DiskMag?

Hello,
Now that Pete has brought out an alpha mod player, I think it is time
for a Euphoria diskmag! (If you don't know what a diskmag is check out
http://www.hornet.org). If anybody wants to write some articles for it,
please e-mail them straight to me at stephen.spencer at usa.net.

I'm not saying this is guaranteed to be finished, but it's something to
try! I'm looking for programming tips, abuse of other languages (plenty
of QBasic!), funny stories, previews of up-and-coming
games/utilities/whatever, stuff like that.

I look forward to reading your articles,
Stephen Spencer

3. Re: DiskMag?

I'll send you some discussion topics and ideas, that people might want to
see or hear about.
You could have a "this month's best mails on the list"-section where you
order the mails in discussions, announcements and problem-solution's

And as to discussions on basic vs Euphoria, Dutch people could try to look
up the thread "PowerBasic" in the newsgroup nl.comp.programmeren

If it it still their you'll find some1 saying that Powerbasic should be
accepted as a real programming language and that is does have structure and
other stuff. Most people in that newsgroup program C or Delphi, and are thus
also like any "real" programmer anti-basic. (the language made me think of
the computer in such weird sick ways, unlike low-level languages as C(++) or
high-level languages like Delphi and Euphoria)

4. Re: DiskMag?

At the moment, I'm working out how to use Pete's ModeX library (a few
more examples would have helped - nice simple ones so that people like
me can understand them!). Once I have the engine running (couple of
weeks? - I'm very busy at the moment), I'll stick it up on my webpage so
that people can tell me how to improve it and so that I can ask specific
people to write about specific things. Once all the articles have
arrived, I'll put them with the engine, get some decent music, stick it
all together and then compile it. I might even release the source code
as an easy-to-use diskmag.e!
Even if my plans fall to bits, I'll release everybody's articles in some
format so that your hard work (?) will not have been wasted.

So get scribbling and send your articles straight to me! No article will
be refused (unless it is totally obscene or something). You can even
include pictures!

Thanks in advence,
Stephen Spencer
