1. Judith's IDE - Bug Report

When I've opened the Menu Editor, if I then position the mouse on the IDE
window, the Menu Editor dialog flickers like a wild window.

I'm not disputing what you say, but why are you clicking on the IDE window
while the modal menu editor is opened?

Also I have discovered that my prior post stating only the statusbar buggers
up the window title (or any field you have just changed via properties and
then clicked on the design window) was incorrect. But the good news is the
version I am working on now which incorporates David Cuny's Property Sheet
does not have that propblem. I have a bug or two to work out before I will
release the next version.

My apology. You did not CLICK in the IDE window, you just passed the mouse
across it. Just try to stay in the modal menu editor while it is open until
I can find a fix.

4. Re: Judith's IDE - Bug Report

Judith,

I think maybe he meant that when he *moves* the mouse from the not-maximized
edit window to *over* some portion of the design pad window, he gets some
kind of flickering, not that he is clicking on the design pad? And that may
be a partial function of which Windows he is using; in 98, moving the mouse
from the editor to over the design pad does make them "swap" places, putting
the design pad on top of the editor; maybe in another Windows version, it
makes something different happen?

5. Re: Judith's IDE - Bug Report

I wasn't clicking on it... I was hovering over it.

I did this because I was going to check out something
else somewhere on my system while the menu thingie was
still open... Anyway, that strange behavior occurred
so I thought I should report it.

Sorry I responded so late!

No problem at all. I'm glad you let me know about it because it certainly
needed fixing.

I've got a solution for the behavior.

The next version of IDE is coming along nicely. It will have David Cuny's
Property Sheet docked at the left of the Design window so you can
immediately see the changes you make via the Properties. There are
scroll bars for the design window which allows easy access to build larger
screens and a popup choice on the right click allows you to see the screen
full size and move controls around. It will require win32lib version 54.

BUT there are a few problems I can't figure out. I've spent a good part of
the weekend and gotten nowhere so I will probably post it anyway,
documenting the problems in a README.doc and let the experts help me.
