I think that puts most dialects of BASIC under one banner. See, VB.NET is listed separately further down the list. -- "The author regrets that he is unable to reconcile himself to the thoughtful point of view you have expressed. Can't really remember how, though ... I think it came up in a search engine while looking for free programming languages that would work with Windows. I figured I had nothing to lose - it couldn't be worse than trying to fiddle with C - and downloaded it to give it a go. A couple weeks of cursing {look through the archives and imagine all the editing I did to make them sound as pleasant as they do} later, I think I have the hang of it, and I can already tell with my habit of writing programs that play with data like crazy, Euphoria's going to make me cream! Some people come here and are far more confused about programming in general or working at the command prompt. They say a few things about how Euphoria is not for them and just leave, when really almost *any* programming language wouldn't be for them. -- "The author regrets that he is unable to reconcile himself to the thoughtful point of view you have expressed. Programming's an art as much as science, and a lot of people I guess don't associate writing a bunch of silly words in some obscure sequence with painting with oils on canvas. But they really are an awful lot alike. They both are trained skills, and yet, without the talent, you can do neither. Love & Friendship & Blessed Be! Lynn Erika Kilroy

I don't want to drag this thread out, but it does make me think about what is appropriate and what is not. I might have been less inclined to ignore it if someone had said "Euphoria gives me a h***-on". Double standard I guess. But C Bouzy is right that there are minors on this board and you have to tone your language appropriately. There are other ways of expressing excitement than using that metaphor. I could go on more about free speech and what that means and when certain types of free speech are inappropriate (or at least that they are inappropriate in certain venues) but I won't. Anyway, sorry to drag this out, hopefully the thread dies... -- "The author regrets that he is unable to reconcile himself to the thoughtful point of view you have expressed. I encourage her to read the threads because I expect the comments at this forum to remain PG. I do not expect someone who is part of a programming community to use the term "cream" in a sexual manner to express their excitement. If this was an adult chat, then it would not matter, but as I stated before there are minors who visit this forum. ----If you continue to do what you have always done, you will get what you have always gotten.----

I'm with Bouzy on this one. Especially since Lynn is apparently some transgender freak who is "really big and really ugly" (her words, not mine). Now, if she was a hottie like Jennifer Aniston, I could be more tolerant. -=ck "Programming in a state of Euphoria." http://www.cklester.com/euphoria/

Until other people pointed it out. It's like Janet Jackson at the Super Bowl. I saw it as it happened and thought nothing about it. I asummed she had on some sort of body stocking or something. From the small percentage it took up of the entire screen it was hard to tell. I wasn't until Entertainment Tonight repeatedly showed close-ups of the whole sordid affair that I became aware.
