1.) What happened to the 2064.64 MB in the HP drive?
2.) What is the difference between a Hard Drive and a Local Drive?
3,) I have Windows 98 and alot of other stuff installed in the HP drive and yet
it
shows 0 MB Used and the Pie chart in DriveSpace shows 0 why?
Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
A hard drive is the physical 'thing' you have put into the computer
A local drive is what the computer reads - eg you can partition a physical
drive into partitions c:, d:, and e: if you wanted.
Dell
2 hard drives
drive 1 3098.91 MB
partitioned into c: 2047.19 MB
d: 1047.19 MB
drive 2 1224.56 MB
partitioned as whole e: 1220.41 MB
(4MB or so loss due formatting / cluster size)
drive f: cdrom
HP
1 hard drive
drive 1 4112.33 MB
partitioned as whole c: 2047.69 MB
drive d: cdrom
You are losing win 98.
It looks to me like you have come up against the 2GB limit.
Are you using FAT32 or FAT16? If FAT16, reinstall win98, choosing
FAT32 as the format option.
Are you using the correct drivers for the drive - looks like a small
older drive to me, check out driverguide if the disk manufacturer doesn't
have the drivers.
Use ranish partition manager (www.ranish.com) to look at the drive,
even partition / format the the unused space. Partition manager will also
tell you if the first partition is fat16 or fat32.

There should be a utility to convert to FAT32 in the System Tools
menu, under Accessories, I forget what its called, since I use XP now,
but it should be there. This will prevent you from having to
re-install if you choose not to.

Yes, you can canvert to fat32 from fat16, forgot about that.
Somehow my brain said, 'you are using win98', but my fingers typed
'you are losing win98'. Freudian slip?

I'd say the partition type isn't recognized or it was overwritten.
The new
computer might want a new, different partition type.
