Thomas, What's 'Das Svendanya'? If you think it's a Russian greeting, then your rendition is full of careless mistakes, on par with your other contributions. Now, I have not uttered a Russian word since the bastards chased me in their tanks through the streets of Prague in summer of '68, but I am pretty sure it's more likely 'Do Svidanya', phonetically something like 'doh sve-dar-nya'. Literally, it means 'until we see each other again', a polite Russian way of saying 'see you'. Please, correct me, if I am wrong. Otherwise feel discouraged. jiri

Jiri, Why the critical tone? I didnt think there was any 'level' of programming expertise required to post on the Euphoria site, and i wouldnt want to see it turn into an "im better then you are" type of forum. --Al "Tomorrows excellent programmers are beginners today"

Al, I can't care less about the 'level' of programming expertise, high or low, and I am always prepared to help anybody genuinely struggling. I am not attacking beginners. I am myself a beginner in several endeavors because I like trying new things, fresh challenges. I am attacking obvious sloppiness, refusal to attend to detail, the traits some of our younger members are clearly exhibiting. These are quite often combined with unbearably cavalier attitudes. Al, you know what I mean, we have seen it a lot in recent times: "I have this great idea, here it is, but it does not work. Please, debug it for me, because I can't really be bothered reading the bloody manual..." jiri >From: Al Getz <xaxo at AOL.COM> >Reply-To: Euphoria Programming for MS-DOS <EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU> >To: EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU >Subject: Re: Das Svendanya >Date: Mon, 30 Oct 2000 05:21:17 -0500 > >Jiri, > > Why the critical tone?
