1. Powerbasic, hrmf!

Several eons ago, whilst searching for cheap and easy programming langs, =
I ran across powerbasic. Well, to make a long story short, PB is fairly =
easy, but its not cheap.
However, they have a strong presence on usenet groups and you can get =
snippets of code from abc (all basic code).
To be fair, though, there is also a link to Rob's site on =
www.basicgurus.com !
So why do I mention this? Well, PB is a compilable lang, while EU is =
not. That has always bothered me, but it has not others. Sure, EU is =
fast, but if I want to distribute a small prog (not on the list but =
elsewhere) as an .exe, it is at least 175 kb, whereas a truly compiled =
one in another lang may be 10-30 kb. Saves alot of d/ling!
Well, this means little in these days of bloatware. What I really =
wanted to point out when I started this was there are almost no games =
out there created in PB. And the compiler for DOS is ~$190!!! I would =
say we have a bargain here with EU, and the fact that many games have =
already been developed says alot more for our sweet little language than =
many others. So keep coding game folks (uh, me too I guess...)
Enuff rant. Later.
Kevin

2. Re: Powerbasic, hrmf!
But Euphoria can have a program size up to 4GIGs. What about Power Basic ?
