1. BindW not working

Help, I have the full version of 2.5. My computer crashed and I lost my entire C: partition. Windows 2000 was in there. Euphoria and Edita are on another partition (D:) and shouldn't be affected. I re-installed 2000 and set up enviroment variables in my control panel/system/ advanced. Everything seems to work ok, except when I try to bind in Edita. I get: BACKENDW.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. When I bind .ex file in an older editor it works ok. The older editor never did bind .exw files. When I try bindw from the command line I get the same error. I re-installed euphorian on D:. Any help will be appreciated. Oh yes, all this was working fine before the crash. Don Cole

I don't know what it could be. People are not reporting any bugs in the 2.5 binder. Maybe your PATH references corrupted directories or files (.dlls?) on your damaged C drive. You could try running: backendw.exe from the command line. When I do that, I get a message: "No Euphoria code to execute". I only have edita.exe on my disk, no .exw file, so I can't easily try that, but you said it worked before anyway. Regards, Rob Craig Rapid Deployment Software http://www.RapidEuphoria.com

If it doesnt point the the dir with your .exe file it might not find it or you may have to try opening that .exe with "open with" in order to get it registered properly with the registry system. Windows is such a pain with these kind of things that i wouldnt be suprized if it's something like that. In any case, if you cant get it working yet reply again and we'll try different things. Also, i have a program in the archives that sets up your eviron for Euphoria and it's easy to use because you just run it. I think it sets up the PATH var too but i'd have to double check. Oh yeah, dont forget to log off then back on to get the new eviron to take effect. Might have to reboot. Take care, Al And, good luck with your Euphoria programming!
