------=_NextPart_000_0010_01BE47DB.6E963420 charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi all I confirm that I am also getting the crash regardless of the exw file = being attempted, also it happens when simply typing "exw". The old exwd.exe debug.log gives: Starting about to init i/o finished init i/o finished init graphics The newer exwd.zip I get errors in zip file after fetching it=20 7 times with/without replace, different target directories. Anybody else able to fetch it ok? In the meantime I will see if I can find a common factor by testing EU2.1 on other hardware with vanilla win98. ------=_NextPart_000_0010_01BE47DB.6E963420 charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD W3 HTML//EN"> <HTML> <HEAD> <META content=3Dtext/html;charset=3Diso-8859-1 = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META content=3D'"MSHTML 4.72.3110.7"' name=3DGENERATOR> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2>Hi all</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2>I confirm that I am also getting the = crash=20 regardless of the exw file being attempted,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2>also it happens when simply typing=20 "exw".</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2>The old exwd.exe debug.log = gives:</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2>Starting</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2>about to init i/o</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2>finished init i/o</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2>finished init graphics</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2>The newer exwd.zip I get errors in = zip file=20 after fetching it </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2>7 times with/without replace, = different target=20 directories.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2>Anybody else able to fetch it = ok?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2>In the meantime I will see if I can = find a=20 common factor</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2></FONT><FONT size=3D2>by testing = EU2.1 on other=20 hardware with vanilla win98.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> ------=_NextPart_000_0010_01BE47DB.6E963420--

Yes, others were able to fetch it, but I've found that URL to=20 be somewhat unreliable. Anyway, I've now uploaded yet another exwd.zip.=20 This time you should download it from: That's an alternate URL for the same file, but it works better=20 for some reason, maybe because it's more direct. So far, debug.log suggests that a failure occurs (for a few people -- not the vast majority) within a couple of hundred C statements from the start of main() in exw.exe when a certain C routine is called.=20 All of the code looks very innocent, so I'm checking this time to=20 see if the code for that routine has been corrupted.
