1. Windows Euphoria version 3.0.1 install program errors

The 3.0.1 install program has the following problems: When you first install program does not tell you that you can change the install directory in advance it still has message that says to rename directory if you want to install in another location. Then If you continue on it allows you to change the directory. If you change the directory and click next the gray-out window shows that you are about to install in the default c:\euphoria directory but it does use the correct directory which could confuse a new user. When the install program gets to the end and you have installed in a different directory the install is looking for the files in the default include path for files to complete the install and the user will get messages like the following: ======================================== C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\is-CQOD1.tmp\doc.exw:43 can't open \ include \euphoria\include\wildcard.e Press Enter ^ ======================================== A suggestion is that the complete version number should be part of download file name. Actually, it suggests renaming if you want to install to the *same* directory. > Then If you continue on it allows you > to change the directory. The opening message could be clearer. I'll do something. > If you change the directory and click next the gray-out window > shows that you are about to install in the default c:\euphoria > directory but it does use the correct directory which could > confuse a new user. I'm not sure what you mean by the "gray-out window". > When the install program gets to the end and you have installed > in a different directory the install is looking for the files > in the default include path for files to complete the install > and the user will get messages like the following: > ======================================== > > C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\is-CQOD1.tmp\doc.exw:43 > can't open \ > include \euphoria\include\wildcard.e > > Press Enter > ^ > ======================================== Yes, Ray Smith reported that, and I've uploaded a fixed install procedure for that. > A suggestion is that the complete version number > should be part of download file name. It would be better to be more precise, but the more places where I say 3.0.1 instead of just 3.0 (or 30), the more chances I have to forget to change something to 3.0.2 (or 302) with the next release.
