1. cry for help

Hey, Guys,

I do not know how to do it, but I think we have to find a way how to
separate Bill's followers from the sane remnants of the Euphorian
crowd. No doubt, some of you will remember and accuse me again from
just another fit of random Windows smashing, but I cannot take it any
more! I will never understand why anybody would want to muse, almost
endlessly, how to elicit any sort of retarded response from a second
rate operating system. And, unfortunately, that's precisely what
Micro$oft friends are forcing us to read about all the time. I agree,
the people who want to do it, should be allowed to do it, but, please,
only from the relative safety of a specially built asylum.

Or even better, can we perhaps have a three-way split, to get rid of
the Linux nuts as well? jiri

Jiri, you are right as usual. The computer world prodictivity slows
to a crawl whenever Windows enters the picture. However, that is where the
money is...so love it or starve. Sorry, it is a cruel world. Bye, Grumpy Art

Yes, ad hominem are certainly satisfying to write. I should know; I've
written my fair share of them.

Why not just suggest splitting the group into Win32 and DOS users?

Jiri,
Upon inspecting the header of your message, I found this line:

X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 5.00.2014.211

So either your message was a troll or you are one of same
people you're complaining about. Should we make room for
you in the asylum? blink

Don,

From your confused reaction I have to assume you are one of the Bill's
victims too. You know, in the real world, there is a big difference between
an occasional use (especially when there are virtually no alternatives
allowed) and active promotion of the vile stuff. jiri

You are right, David, but where is your sense of humour? jiri

8. Re: cry for help

Euphoria Programming for MS-DOS:

If / when the mailing list ever does get split it should be split into a general
list for Euphoria issues and a list for each platform supported.

Currently that would be:

* Euphoria - General
* Euphoria - DOS32 specific
* Euphoria - Win32 specific
* Euphoria - Linux specific

There should be a Linux list because there is already much discussion.

For me personally I don't think it needs to be split yet, I'm interested in
hearing what others are doing even if it doesn't affect me.

Sorry... when I first got the post, I tried several times to find some
hidden humour, but it just came off as mean-spirited. It didn't help that
I'm one of those "nuts" promoting both the Win32 and Linux platforms
(although 99% of the time I code in DOS).

No offense taken, though.

On the matter of splitting the group, I agree with Ray Smith - there doesn't
seem to be cause yet.

Jiri,
Yes, I know there's a big difference. However, it seems a bit
cheesy to me to slam M$ products while using them yourself.
(At least use a Mac or something blink Plus, I thought the subject
at hand was Euphoria. I've not seen anyone on this list engaged in
"active promotion" of M$ stuff, did I miss something?

No, I'm not one of Bill's victims. I very much dislike the way he
does business and I'm not fond of his products. Right now, all I
have is a 3 year old NT box, but I've already decided my next box will
be a G3 PowerMac running MacOS, MkLinux and BeOS (if Be ever gets off
their duff and supports the G3). I'll be completely Wintel free.

Smart move. Have you read Be's faqs about G3... it's not their fault,
Apple is rotten (with worm and everything). Anyways may I suggest a PII
box with SuSE/RedHat and BeOs.

BTW I'm available to beta-test, co-develop or whatever, Euphoria on
Linux (2.0.39, soon 2.2.5) and BeOS R4. PEU already compiles succesfully
on both platforms. Rob, do you want to send me something? Someday?

No, I haven't read them. Thanks for the tip.
